Kewl Pod: A Library Café Internal Analysis About the Company Kewl Pod is an establishment that offers both library and food and beverages in one study place. Its target is to give students, college or graduate, a study place that is open 24 hours a day where they can study, do their group work and learn. It will be a convenient place for the students since the establishment is located at Ground Floor Soriano Building West Timawa Ave, Infante St., Iloilo City. Organization and Management Kewl Pod, a library café, decides to work on a corporate type of business ownership due to lower tax bracketing and higher safety net to the owners. Our company plans to avail a loan to finance our start-up operations. It is easier to obtain loans on a corporate set-up than a single proprietorship and partnership type of business. Capitalization Since the company will operate as corporation, the capitalization will be fairly divided due to the fact that this a starting corporation. The figures below will show how Kewl Pod will share the capital from their incorporators. Aside from the Board of Directors, Kewl Pod will be having one Chief Executive Officer, who will be the top person assigned in the organization. Under it are the three functions that will help the organization operate well: The Operations which will he headed by the Chief Operations Officer; Finance supervised by the Chief Finance Officer, Information and Marketing which will be headed by the Chief Information and Marketing Officer. The company decides to put the task of marketing and information to one position since the company saw the direct relation of the two. The figure below shows the organization structure of Kewl Pod and the person under it. Figure 1: The Organization Structure Manpower requirements The establishment, with the operating hours of 24 hours a day 7 days a week will hire 8 regular employees and outsource 2 security guards from a security agency and 2 cleaning crew from a manpower service provider.
