Alzheimer’s is a form of dementia. One in nine Americas is living with Alzheimer’s. (Alz.org, 2015) Alzheimer’s has no cure. Alzheimer’s only get worse over time. Alzheimer’s affects how a person thinks, their memory and their behavior as well. Alzheimer’s disease has three stages. Those three stages are mild, moderate and severe. Stage one is mild. Stage one usually lasts between 2-4 years. Stage two is moderate. Stage two can last between 2-10 years. The last stage is stage three. Stage three lasts 1-3 years. Mr. Speed is in the first stage of Alzheimer’s. This is trouble for Mr. Speed. Mr. Speed wife is concerned about what her husband will be able to do.
