How might this structure influence Gore’s strategy? Ans. The structure of W.L. Gore & Associates is an organic one. Such an organization is defined as one that is flat, uses cross-hierarchical and cross-functional teams, has low formulaization and relies on participative decision making. Gore’s main aim is to create an environment he aims at developing team ethics and that everyone should work collectively. There are no bureaucratic rules and procedures in the organization, and one employee can take care of many departments at the same time. There is no hierarchy in the sense that everyone has an equal say in every matter. This kind of a structure confuses employees at first but they all find it beneficial in the long run. Q.
