1.    What are 3 competitive advantages of Wal-Mart? Wal-Mart can offer its customers one stop shopping where as other store carry a  specialized selection. Wal-Mart also claims to offer the lowest prices on everyday  merchandise where specialty stores carry similar products that are more  expensive. Lastly, Wal-Mart offers convenient store hours, staying open later than  many of the smaller stores.   2.    Do you believe each advantage is sustainable in other countries?  Why  or why not.   I feel that Wal-Mart’s one stop shopping is convenient regardless of the country.  This would be especially true if they are careful to carry products that are  commonly shopped for by that community.  Additionally, consumers world wide try  to find the lowest prices, so as long as Wal-Mart is offering lower prices that its

Marshall Fields had a small, locally owned atmosphere where as Wal-Mart is know for being a huge, international brand. Lastly, Marshall Field’s has a very devoted clientele where as Wal-Mart customers only shop there because it is cheap and convenient, not because they have an attachment with the store itself....
