1-3 Activity: Ethics
From looking at the articles and reading, it was rather hard to focus on the AASECT
Code of Ethics and pinpoint what it all means and how it all ties in with the counseling field.
After watching the week one welcome video, it kind of makes better sense for the way the
document is set up and what it entails for the members of the AASECT association. Listening to
the video I can tell you what a difference is and that is the idea that anyone can potentially
become a part of this association from another job field other than counseling. The idea that the
document speaks about a lot of membership requirements and also corrective actions that could
take place to members that do not follow the association rules. It almost seems as if the
document is geared towards the member and the things that should be and shouldn’t be done as a
member, but it does not really speak about the clients they will be serving much in the document.
