To begin with, national nutrition surveys comprises of methods that are used in gathering relevant information concerning one’s population’s nutrition, dietary and related health status. One survey is used in collecting data on different kinds and amounts of edible substances people eat. Another survey is mainly meant to examine people by using physical examinations, anthropometric measurements and laboratory tests (Whitney, Eleanor and Sharon, 11). The data collected provides information that can be used to assess various nutrition-related conditions like growth retardation, heart-related conditions, and nutrient deficiencies. A wealth of information resulting from these surveys is then used to play a variety of functions including the establishment of public policy, creation of food assistance programs and nutrition education. Another method is the use of national health goals (Whitney, Eleanor and Sharon, 12). This is a program set by healthy people. They set priorities, guides and policies, which eliminates health disparities. The goals set by the program are used in improving the nation’s health for ten years. The other method is the use of national trends (Whitney, Eleanor and Sharon, 12). What people eat affects them, especially the fast foods bought from restaurants. They include
