Ahaziah of Israel: 1 Kings 22:51 – 2 Kings 1:18 Note the formula used as a description of Ahaziah: “He walked in the way of his father and mother, and in the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.” This is what is said of all the evil northern kings. It becomes a refrain: “he walked in the way of Jeroboam who caused Israel to sin.” Note the physical description of Elijah in 2 Kings 1:8. You will see it again in the Gospel of Mark.
