A u d r e y F u l l e r|2Key ConsiderationsThis report’s goal is to explain the key consideration and constraints of the networking project at thefirm’s new location. It also describes the requirements for setting up a network for an advertising firmwith offices in Albany, NY, and Springfield with an additional office site in Fayetteville, NC.You will also find in this report the layout of the network structure for the Springfield office with willenable employees to access the company’s WAN and work remotely. Working remotely will rid ofconstraints that would enable the company to hire the best country no matter their location across thecountry. It also addresses the accompanying considerations for the network based on the needs of an advertisingfirm with offices in Albany, NY, and Springfieldbutfor their new office site in Fayetteville, NC.You will also find in this report a layout that illustrates the recommended technical networkconfiguration of the hardware and software, and the LAN topology used, and the recommended Internetservice providerBefore I begin this networking project report, I would like to discuss the OSI model.
A u d r e y F u l l e r|3The OSI model (Open Systems Interconnection model) plays an instrumental role in setting up newnetworks. It shows how the components communicate with each other. With Seven layers, the OSIprovides a common language and reference point for network professionals,It divides networking tasks into logical layers for easier understanding, allows specialization of features atdifferent levels, aids in troubleshooting, and promotes standards of synergy between networks anddevices. The OSI ModelThe layers of the OSI model are the Application layer, the Presentation layer, the transport layer, thenetwork layer, the data link layer which consists of the logical link control and media access control, andfinally the physical layer. The application layer integrates network functionality into the host operating system and supportscommunication between network clients and services.it provides services like hypertext transferprotocol, Telnet, file transfer protocol, and simple network management protocol.
