The maximum horizontal ground accelerations at the same strong ground motion stations, that are predicted using the Abrahamson & Silva (1996), Boore et al. (1994), and Idriss (1994) attenuation relationships are shown on Table 2. (See Appendix 1) The distance to the rupture plane of the strong ground motion stations are measured from Figure 1, which shows the surface projection of the approximate zone of energy release as a result of the August 17, 1999 zmit Earthquake (Mw=7.4).
