The Child Care and Early Years Act is working hard to ensure
child care in Ontario reflects the realities of our modern world. The
overarching goal is to build a child care and early years system that
better supports families and gives children the best possible start in
life

CCEYA – extensive information that you will review annually when you are
employed as an RECE
Some of the procedures would be different depending on the child care
organization you are doing a placement or working at but this is an
opportunity to understand what the CCEYA is about

provides the community with
information about the centres

Access to professional learning : facilitate professional learning sessions,
coordinate speakers, provide support for educators.

Arrival and Departure
Safe Arrival of children in the program is ensured by requesting that
parents take their child directly to the staff member on duty each
morning, initial the sign in/out sheet and indicate the time of drop
off, as verification of the child’s arrival.
Safe Departure of children in the program is ensured by requesting
that the parents pick up their child from the program, initial the sign
in/out sheet and indicate the time of pick up, as verification of the
child’s departure.
Written notice is required if someone other than the registered
parent/guardian is to pick up a child. A child will not be released to
someone who does not have permission to pick him or her up. The
parent/guardian will be called should this situation arise.
