CLASSIFICATION OFANOMALIES. BITE ANOMALYIN THE SAGITTAL PLANE:DISTAL AND MESIAL BITE.
CLASSIFICATION OF DENTAL ANOMALIESThere are a huge number of anomalies that have a similarclinical picture. Various classifications have been proposed tostreamline and systematize various types of dentoalveolaranomalies. Systematization of anomalies makes it possible tochoose the right approach to their understanding, to study thefactors of their occurrence.
It is based on the type of closure of the first molars.Indeveloping this classification, angle proceeded from the factthat the first molar of the upper jaw occupies a permanent placeafter the second premolar. The upper jaw is inextricably linkedwith other bones of the skull, and he called the closure of thefirst molars of the upper and lower jaws the key ofocclusion.According to angle, all changes can occur due to themobile lower jaw. The author identified three classes of closureof molars.
Angle's classification (1898)firstgradecharacterized by normal closure of themolars in the sagittal plane. The mesio-buccalcusp of the maxillary first molar is locatedinintertubercular fissure of the first molar of thelower jaw. In this case, all changes occur infront of the molars.Perhaps a crowded positionof the incisors, a violation of their closure.
II CLASS, 1SUBCLASSAngle's classification (1898)secondclasscharacterized by a violation of theclosure of the molars, in which theintertubercular fissure of the first molar ofthe lower jaw is located behind the mesio-buccal tubercle of the first molar of theupper jaw. This class is divided into twosubclasses:subclass 1 - upper incisors areinclined in the labial direction(protrusion);subclass 2 - upper incisors tiltedpalatally (retrusion).II CLASS,2NDSUBCLASS
ANGLE'S CLASSIFICATION(1898)THIRDCLASSCHARACTERIZED BY AVIOLATION OF THE CLOSURE OFTHE FIRST MOLARS, IN WHICHTHE INTERTUBERCULAR FISSUREOF THE FIRST MOLAR OF THELOWER JAW IS LOCATED IN FRONTOF THE MESIO-BUCCAL TUBERCLEOF THE FIRST UPPER MOLAR OFTHE JAWmesial bite
Types of bitesteeth can goes into three types:vertical(along the height of the dental crowns)sagittal (along thelength of the dentition and jaws relative to eachother)transvesial (according to the lateral ratio of teethand jaws).Depending on the violation of the norm ofclosure in each plane, various types of bite aredistinguished.
