Initial response Approximately one person in every four individuals living in the United States have been affected by back pain hence making it top the list of causes of disability (Venkat, Fromm, & Ibarra, 2013). Chronic back conditions are promoted by different risk factors including obesity, unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, and physiological conditions such as pregnancy among other factors. The condition can affect individuals of all ages, but more particularly those aged above 45 years (American College of Preventive Medicine, 2011). The evaluation of chronic back pain involves a critical analysis of a patient’s physical examination and medical history. These reports are aimed at revealing all the warning signs which indicate a serious underlying condition (Buttaro, Trybulski, Polgar Bailey, & Sandberg- Cook, 2013). Different patient factors like age and occupation should be considered (Buttaro et al., 2013). Additionally, constitutional symptoms, progressive and severe neurologic deficits, trauma, history of malignancy, fecal inconsistency, and a compromised rectal tone should also be evaluated to help determine the nature and underlying cause of back pain (Buttaro et al., 2013).These markers, therefore, offer the clinicians efficient means of determining the
