Issue 218: "In order for any work of art-whether film, literature, sculpture, or a song-to have merit, it must be understandable to most people." Syllabus: 1O O V 2H O 3A O @G@ ‘+ 4A O In this knowledge explosion time, rapid change of technology and information leads to generating lots of new kinds of art, such as computer design, flash and so on. No matter how the format of art changes, we can divide arts into two kinds: pop arts and noble arts. The pop arts are generated from the common people , and its responsibility mainly reflect the desire of the ordinary people and the common affair of the society, and people who have never received systematical knowledge of arts can easily understand it. When we are listening to a folk music , or a pop song , we can easily know what it means to express. When we see a newsreel , or a cartoon film , or a commercial film , we can understand its subject without difficulty. When we read a pop novel , or a comic book , we may enjoy it.
