Issue 50 In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. Nowadays many faculties has its own company related to his own major, or spend time working off campus to earn the extra incomes. However, the author suggests that in order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. Is it a necessary and efficient way to enhance the quality of instruction? From my point of view, I to a large extent disagree with the author. A thorough and comprehensive analysis of the whole essay would lent us adequate confidence to prove the deficiency of the author’s suggestion.
