2Supervision Contract and PlanIn the field of ABA, effective supervision is essential for the development of the field, aswell as to ensure the delivery of adequate behavioral services, and for the professionaldevelopment of the behavior analyst (supervisor) and his/her supervisee. The supervisor isresponsible for overseeing, training, and making ethical choices regarding the skills that aredemonstrated by the supervisee. The supervisor must remain competent, and stay informed of allthe new developments in the field. The supervisor is also responsible for assisting the superviseewith the development of professional values, social skills, and management skills, which areimportant for success in the field. Prior to beginning the period of supervision, the supervisor willpresent the supervisee with a contract outlining the responsibilities of both parties. 3Become familiar with a variety of assessment tools:social skills assessments, verbalbehavior assessments, and adaptive assessment tools.Develop, implement, and monitor behavior interventions through the use of a datacollection system.Written activities, such as intervention plans, intervention summaries, plans for transition,session notes, data summaries and graphing.Supervise the implementation of behavioral analytic interventions when implemented byothers.Establish ongoing communication with caregivers, stakeholders, and other professionals.Attend activities, or perform other activities that are typical for a behavior analyst, such asattending meetings, and researching literature related to specific interventions. Thesupervisor will determine if the activity qualifies.These, and other assigned activities will serve to develop, and enhance the current skillsrepertoire of the supervisee. Restricted activities (direct therapy) account for 40% of the requiredhours. Unrestricted activities account for 60% of the required hours; activities must meet theapproval of the supervisor.
