1. Cryptography is a type of way to code. This type of coding provides secure communications and transportation of information through a host of practiced techniques. It is used to protected all transmitted data implemented through a mathematical algorithm. It has a long history beginning at Egyptian hieroglyphics in 1900 BC to modern day coding practices. It is also used to transmit data quickly (Chapter 8, Page 418-421). Cryptanalysis is the processes of breaking encryptions so that it reverts back to its original format. This is done by using a key that is only given to authorized personnel and then used to decrypt the information into plaintext (Chapter 8, Page 419). 2. The earliest use for cryptography was used for a quick transmission of information. This was used because it was the easiest way for someone to understand the message (Chapter 8, Page 419). 3. A cryptographic key is a series of characters and bits that are injected into an algorithm. It is used to decrypt information so that it can be understood. The key is only given to those who are authorized (Chapter 8, Page 419).

"Before using Course Hero my grade was at 78%. By the end of the semester my grade was at 90%. I could not have done it without all the class material I found."

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
