Linux: What it is?
Linux Distributions Linux is packaged for different uses in Linux distributions which contain the sometimes modified kernel along with a variety of other software packages tailored to different requirements. Linux distributions have taken a wide variety of forms from fully featured desktop and server operating systems to minimal environments Most versions of Linux distributions can be freely downloaded from the company website (e.g. Fedora, OpenSuSE, Debian, Slackware, Arch, Ubuntu, etc...)
Linux Distributions To install Linux, you have to choose a Linux distribution. A distribution is the Linux kernel, plus an installation program, plus some set of applications to run on top of it.
