Teniola Idowu Professor Kyung Hee Park Music Appreciation October 23 rd , 2014 Concert Report I attended a piano recital on Tuesday October 20 th at the Marlboro Gallery. The performers were Connie Reynolds, and Susan Ricci Rogel. Connie Reynolds resides in Sarasota, Florida and she has played the piano since she was nine. She also has been a member of the Washington Chorus since 2010. Susan Ricci Rogel is a highly requested collaborative pianist. She has performed in countless halls such as Carnegie Hall and Strathmore Hall, and she is also a member of the PGCC faculty. Susan Ricci Rogel and Connie Reynolds performed four different solo pieces by J.S Bach, S. Joplin, S. Rachmaninoff and L. Bernstein. The first piece performed is called Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J.S Bach, and it comes from the Baroque Period. This piece had a moderate tempo that was not too fast. It repeats a main melody throughout too that is often presented as a crescendo. When the melody repeats it starts off slow then gradually gets louder. It also kept a mezzo forte
