CRITIQUE OF ANALYSIS OF AN INFORMATION SYSTEM 3 Process Analysis All the SDLC models are the available tools and methods for a development team to follow the steps in order to develop software based on the business requirements. All the SDLC models have their limitations and their advantages. It is the choice of the user to select the appropriate model based on the applicability and requirements. Waterfall model is most widely used SDLC model in large companies, since the development team is very familiar to this model. This organization uses Waterfall model as it is a huge company. The simple principle behind the Waterfall model is, time which is spent early on planning the requirements and design should be perfect as it is very useful in terms of cost and it will save lot of time and money in the later phases. It also requires that the implementers of the system follow the rules and guidelines thoroughly to complete design correctly which ensures the integration of the system. Prototypes sometimes are generated with minimum amount of code just necessary to explain the requirements and they are never made for business use apart from explaining design and requirements. Health care information systems that are successfully developed and implemented can improve health care efficiency and effectiveness. However, their implementation is frequently resisted and results in failures. The complexity and unpredictability of implementation efforts creates difficulties for organizations that attempt to implement technology based change. Often a discrepancy occurs between the planning of implementation and how it actually takes place in practice. The challenge of identifying techniques to ease the incorporation of information technology into health care organizations remains an important one.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
