Yi Wang Ms. Krueger Mass Media – Period 1 16 December 2014 Breakfast at Tiffany’s Reflection After watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s , I’m still thinking about primarily how New York is a character in the film – after all, that’s why we started watching the film in the first place. Would the movie have been better or worse if it hadn’t been set in New York? I believe that the setting of New York is part of what made Breakfast at Tiffany’s so special and a “capital C classic”. Many of the iconic scenes, such as the opening scene at Tiffany’s and the scene where Holly and Paul do things they’ve never done before, take place in New York. It affects the entire movie, as Holly and Paul’s interactions with the city would only take place in a city like New York. The bustling city is also a perfect place for the characterization of these “two drifters” – drifting
