Unformatted text preview: EXT. MACAVOY BACK YARD — SUNDAY It’s another perfect Venice day, Sydney lying on an old trampoline that’s seen better days. Her guitar is lying next to her as she writes in her notebook, deep in her own thoughts. Liam comes around the corner, sees her and pauses, almost rethinking whether he should approach or not. But he does... Hey. Sydney sits up, finds him standing there. He holds a Happy Meal box and a small drink up, smiling. SYDNEY {eyeing the box) Is that what I think it is? Liam nods, hands her the box. SYDNEY (CONT’D) You seriously got me a happy meal? LIAM I know how you live for the toy. Sydney opens the box and steals a french fry from inside. SYDNEY It’s like getting a totally free gift. LIAM Thought you could use a little "happy” after yesterday. He hops up on the trampoline beside her. SYDNEY 3 hate fighting. H Well, youfre pretty good at it. .. JR. Sydney punches Liam in the arm. ugdlmt(conerb) Hey, sensitive arm. (beat) You heard anything from them? Sydney shakes her head, takes a sip of her soda. 2/3 SYDNEY Liv was right. I am scared, and I have no idea what to do. L I think you just have to—— SYDNEY If you tell me to follow my heart I’m going to beat you with this Happy Meal box. LEAMh Honestly, it sucks, being in this place. It’s like we're in limbo or something, but everybody expects us to have all the answers. Who We are, who we want to be and what we’re going to do with our entire freakin’ lives. SYDNEY But, you've always known who you were. LIAM No way. I’fiFfifist as lost as everybody else, but I don't want to sit in some cubicle for the rest of my life. I want to be a cliff jumper. SYDNEY A what? LIAM It’s like some people aren’t afraid of anything. They jump off cliffs and out of planes. Everybody else just kind of stands there and watches. (beat) That's why I'm going to take this trip. I’m going drive across country with nothing but my cameras and enough cash for food and gas. Maybe a creepy hotel here and there. Sydney smiles, taking in every Word, amazed by Liam's passion as he speaks. 74. LIAM (CONT'D) I want to Weople like us, film their stories. They have to be out there, some of them just as lost and messed up, but there’s got to be others who have it figured out. (beat) I don’t know. Maybe I’m crazy. I want to believe there's something bigger out there for me. (glances at Sydney) I want to find my place in the world. SYDNEY How do you do that? Always know exactly what to say? Liam shrugs. LIAM Lame mutafifi‘figmer? Sucks in a fight, but great for trampoline life talks. SYDNEY I don't know. From where I’m sitting, it's pretty life—saving. Anxious, Sydney grabs another fry, but Liam looks like he has more to say and finally finds the courage. LIAM If I would“fi€$€aknown all this was going to happen, I wouldn’t have invited Austin to come by the shop the other night. (beat) Whatever you do will be the right thing for you. That’s all that matters, but don’t let them change you into something you’re not, because I think you’re kind of perfect. Liam reaches in, wipes a bit of ketchup from her mouth. It’s an intense, heated moment. SYDNEY (captivated) Thanks. W ...

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
