Jose Balanza Martinez ANTH 2351-03 Week 13 April, 10, 20126 Chapter 14 Summary In this chapter, the books talks about religion, the main aspects of it, the way it is organized, and its benefits to society. The book also explains how witchcraft and religion in general explains why bad things happen to good people and how people should behave morally correct. It also says how some religions start from a certain “prophet” that has an answer to why problems happen. I liked this chapter because I find interesting how different societies have the concept of a “greater meaning” in a sense. Chapter 15 Summary In this chapter the book talks about art and the relationship it has to cultures over the world. The book discusses whether art is a cultural universal since some people believe it doesn’t encompass everyday life. It also talks about how art has branched out of religion, since several types of art have sprung from what where initially religious ceremonies. I like this chapter because I believe that art is expressed by humans in their everyday life, contrary to the belief of others.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
