Cody Beyer Google + Assignment Due 9/22/15 The article of my choosing was http://time.com/9207/social-media-is-making-you-stupid/ because of its relevance to our modern society. As a whole the article has taken a more in-depth look at the effects of social media on the human brain. Do we numb ourselves and discontinue anything to do with retaining information? Are we so engrossed in our social media sites that we miss the things happening all around us? The answers to these questions, among others, can be found within the article on Time. Outside of the story making use of the term “stupider” (which is, in fact, not a legitimate word) it all seemed very scientific and factual. There are references to various areas of a study conducted by Phys.org. The bias that is present here is in favor of stating that people who are more “media-inclined” are likely not as smart.
