Summary: - Authors of this article discussed that core competence is important in any organization in order to be successful and profitable than competitors. Here in the article, GTE and NEC are compared where NEC stands as a better organization than GTE because NEC follows the core competency strategy. They have suggested the two steps to make competitive advantage clear where first step is to express the strategic bound clearly and the next step is to identify the core competence. After identifying the main competence, authors suggest the way to build it by making investment in technologies, invest in business units and by shaping the strategic alliances. They insist that core competence requires effective communication which involves deep assurance of different Strategic Business Units (SBU).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
