Calculate the maximum radii r of the smaller hard sphere atoms that could occupy the O h and T d interstitial sites. 2. Draw unit cell projections for: a) CsCl, b) NaCl, and c) ZnS (zinc blende). 3. Given the following lattice constants for crystals with the NaCl crystal structure, show that these data are not sufficient to obtain a self-consistent set of ionic radii for the Na + , K + , Cl - , and F - ions. Give an explanation why it is not possible. a (NaCl) = 0.563 nm
