Issue- the publication of that day 8,9th, and 10th would be 3 issues of that newspaper Obvious and not obvious reasons why Texas is and Isn't like the South A place where white supremacy was found commonly African Americans held as slaves as very important to Texas Reasons it’s the same: The presence of Mexican Americans Decided not to use the word white in deciding who could vote bc they wanted Mexican Americans to be able to vote What made Texas different? Southern in his background but pushed the cause of Civil Rights forward (like any politician did at the time) Texan Didn’t have the same thing coming from politicians from Mississippi Georgia etc. LBJ 3 groups, not just black and white like you hear about all the time but Africans Americans, Mexican Americans, White Americans, and sometimes even Germans etc. Borders and thinking in groups of three or more (Texas is a border region) Is Texas Different from the South? Poll Tax was clearly meant to make it harder for poor and Non-white people to not be able to vote

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
