Dramatic Play Excellent means for developing the creativity and imagination of young children Dealing with reality Conducive environment and freedom Children also act out their own feelings Children learn to deal with anxiety and also act out their fantasies Three Themes: 1. Domestic scenes – role playing from experience 2. Rescue – conflict emerges 3. Sudden threat – monsters, animal chasing, zombies Children are able to understand and gain a measure of mastery and control over events they have witnessed Children enter and begins to make sense of the adult world Role of Dramatic Play in Development Characteristics of Play 1.
