Withdraw to your main lines and wait him there, Out of the crash of battle. Else he’ll spear you down Or close for the kill and hack you with his sword.” (20.25-32) In this scene the Trojan’s and Achaean’s are going into battle and Zeus has allowed the gods to get involved again. Zeus has lifted his ban on the god’s involvement in the war by saying that now that Achilles is back, he is afraid Troy will be conquered before its fated time. He tells them that they can fight for whichever side they want, but to make sure that nothing gets out of hand. The majority of the gods have chosen to stay out of it and just sit back and watch since they know it is a fated war anyways, regardless of what they do. However, this does not stop Apollo from meddling. Apollo appears next to Hector and tells him to not immediately pick a fight with
