Mill’s Harm Principle Society may restrict a person’s liberty only to prevent direct harm to others. (Mill p. 146) Harm Principle allows interference with other- regarding actions but not self-regarding actions. Some exceptions to the Harm Principle: 1. Harmful self-regarding actions of children 2. Harmful self-regarding actions done out of ignorance 3. Voluntarily selling yourself into slavery
