2 Objective: The objective of this lab was to test that acceleration is directly proportional to net force and it is inverse proportional to its mass. This will be achieved by using Newton’s second law. Data: mass of the cart = 553.9, grams mass of the hook = 8.6, grams experiment # 1 Mtot = 5.6250 ± .0001 x 10 2 , g slope = 1.805 ± .023 , m/s 2 /𝑁 experiment # 2 g = 9.3 ± .2, m/s 2 Data analysis: 1. The mass of the system, based on the slope from the graph: ?𝑎𝑠𝑠 = 1 𝑠???𝑒 562.5 𝑚 𝑠 2 𝑁 = 1 1.805 m/s 2 /𝑁 = .5540 m/s 2 /N 2. The error for mass: 𝛥? 1 = ( 𝜕? 1 𝜕𝑠 ∗ 𝛥𝑠) 2 𝛥? 1 = ( 1 𝑠???𝑒 2 ∗ 𝛥𝑠) 2 𝛥? 1 = ( 1 1.805 2 ∗ .07666) 2 = .0235 m/s 2 /𝑁 3. g and its uncertainty:
