1. In the 12 th chapter of “Invitation to the Life Span”, adulthood begins, however in this chapter there is a switch from general adulthood care and statistical health information, to more general adulthood care and statistical health information. However, additional ideals such as intelligence in adults vs. their bodies decreasing, as well as other statistics involved. One of the first topics that stood out to me in this chapter was Health Habits and Age, specifically in regards to smoking and alcohol. At first the section discusses the mortality rates and the most significant killer to “adults aged 25 to 65, the rate of cancer increases with every year of life, but lifestyle, not age, and is usually the underlying cause…” (Berger 436). However, the reason of this as mentioned in the quote, is primarily due to lifestyle, things such as “smoking, diet, and inactivity” all are prevalent forms of developing cancer, and only increase the chances as it is. (Berger 436). In
