ALZHEIMER’S IS A PERSONAL ISSUE 2 Abstract Certain sectors in the society may view Alzheimer’s disease (AD) as strictly a medical issue. However, to the patient, the family, and the community, which carry the burden of the disease and its care of the patient, the disease is a personal issue and must be viewed and dealt with at the personal level. Financial costs: The cost of appropriate and inappropriate treatments currently peddled by some ‘doctors’ is a financial cost to the patients and their families. Statistics and Epidemiology: The Alzheimer’s Association reported that in the United States alone, around 476,000 Americans ageing 65 years or older will develop AD in 2016 or one American developing AD every 66 seconds.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
