Logan Takizawa Pd.3 Free Response Essay: Andrew Jackson Presidency Andrew Jackson was born in a backwoods settlement in the Carolinas in 1767, where he grew up and received education. He studied law for about two years and he became an amazing lawyer in Tennessee. Jackson, fiercely jealous of honor he frequently engaged in brawls and once killed a man who insulted his wife. Because Jackson was a national hero for being the general in the victory of the War of 1812, he gained popularity and won the election. However he had many flaws and for that I wouldn’t have voted for him. Before Andrew Jackson became President he invaded Florida against orders. He was only instructed to capture runaway slaves but he conquered the territory and wiped out the entire Seminole Village. While in Florida he executed two British officers which was also against orders which were given by his own military court. He was the leader of the Tennessee militia and achieved the rank of colonel. He then become a major general in the War of 1812 which we
