Nanotechnology Project Samantha Anderson 1R A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. In regards to matter, nanometers are shown as a length scale of some small numbers that are used to represent the structure of matter. One definition states that, “Nanotechnology is the development and engineering of devices so small that they are measured on a molecular scale.” By this we can gather that the nanoscale is very small and needed to be measured with special devices. Also, a thesis of nanotechnology is that almost any chemically stable structure that can be specified can in fact be built. To further explain, this means that structures that have a matter made up of millions of nanos can be light and sturdy. To support this, an article on nanotechnology stated that, “The essence of nanotechnology is the ability to work at the molecular level, atom by atom, to create large structures with fundamentally new molecular organization.” Nanotechnology is a new way of organizing the creation of matter and structures with atoms. To sum it all up, nanotechnology is the understanding and control of matter at dimensions between approximately 1 and 100 nanometers. Encompassing nanoscale science, engineering, and technology, nanotechnology involves imaging, measuring, modeling, and manipulating matter at this length scale (Nano.gov). Nanotechnology also has an effect on the properties of things when they are at this level. When particle sizes of solid matter in the visible

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
