Before reading this weeks required chapters, I never knew how much effort went into  writing out instructions and communicating it to a precise audience. The first thing that stood out to me was the difference between instructions and procedures. Our text states “Instructions, spell  out the steps required for completing a task or series of tasks. The audience for a set of  instructions might be someone who doesn’t know how to perform the task”  (Gurak & Lannon,  2016, p. 243). Our text than defines procedures as “A special type of instructions, that serve as  official guidelines for people who typically are already familiar with a given task”   (Gurak &  Lannon, 2016, p. 243).  Normally this would not cross my mind to decipher the two but after reading it became  relatable to my daily tasks. In my workplace, I follow a list of procedures that relate to my
