Christina Freeman 4-26-08 Indv. 102 Sec. 43 Extra Credit 3 Rosemont Opinion The looming question regarding the Rosemont Copper Mines Project is should a mine be built? I have read the three websites and the posted article and I believe that yes, a mine should be built there. A mine would give many more positives to the region than negatives. The opposition to building the copper mines is that it is destroying the land, and harmful to the environment. The reality of it is that yes it is damaging to the land, however the land is already damaged from previous mines and projects. This is nothing new. The land is by no means ‘pristine’ though beautiful it is rugged. As for the argument of the mine being harmful to the environment, copper gives most of the energy required for ‘environmentally friendly’ products and services. It is hard to decide how credible the three websites were because of their different and apparent biases. The obvious environmental lobbyist page save the scenic Santa Ritas wants to
