Scientific Method and Basic Laboratory Techniques Lab Report 1. My lab group hypothesized that the mass of the chewing gum will decrease in weight the longer the chewing time. 2. The materials used for this lab were: 3 pieces of Dubble Bubble chewing gum, 1 participant, a stopwatch, and a scale. In order to complete the lab, we first begun by measuring the original mass of the gum in its wrapper. We then proceeded to have the participant remove the gum from the wrapper and chew it for one minute, using the stopwatch to time them. After the minute was up, we placed the gum back in its wrapper, and placed it on the scale once again to measure the mass after it was chewed. Our findings were recorded. These steps were repeated again, but the participant chewed the
