Diaz 1 Laura Diaz Justin Grant ENC 1101 29 July 2016 Is Veganism the Solution? Eating meat everyday has become a life style for most Americans, but can we reduce our meat consumption to help ourselves and/or the environment? I found three articles to help address this question; Jonathan Safran Foer: Let them Eat Dog, Ronnie Cummins: Factory Farm Meat, and Lauren Davis: The Economic Case for Worldwide Vegetarianism. Foer points out our prioritization of some animals, he makes us connect a men’s best friend, dogs, with animals that are ok to eat. He wants us to think of pigs or cows as a friend and not food. While Cummins, opens our eyes about what’s really in our food, and how we don’t take care of ourselves. He believes that Factory Farms should be eliminated and that animals should roam free. Then, Davis elaborates more on climate change and how our meat-heavy diets could eventually affect the environments. She also talks about future dietary changes and how it will affect our lifestyles. In his article, Foer asks the audience why they believe that eating dogs is immoral. Throughout the whole article, he is practically telling us that if we eat pigs or
