ISYS.475.Exercise.1 Initial Setup 1. Create your GitHub account 2. Create a repository in GitHub called isys-475-exercise-1 3. Create a c9.io account (optionally, you can link github and c9) 4. Create a workspace in C9 and use the url from the github repository (this can be found on the github site) a. In my exercise: Setting up MongoDB 1. Note: Cloud9 comes packaged with MongoDB, but its not running, so we have to start it. 2. Open up a new Terminal Window in Cloud 9. 3. Make a new data directory a. mkdir data 4. Now lets make a file to hold our shell commands a. echo 'mongod --bind_ip=$IP --dbpath=data --nojournal --rest "[email protected]"' > mongod 5. Change the file privileges for the mongod file a. chmod a+x mongod 6. And..lets start the database process: a. ./mongod 7. You should have some command line responses that look like this:
