Chantae Miller, BSN, RN NURS 6050N-5 Week 1 Discussion In the United States, it is my opinion that every citizen has a right to healthcare. There should be different levels of care; for example, I believe that if you are a tax-paying, law-abiding citizen, a child, or disabled; then you should receive the top tier of healthcare. If you are incarcerated or a convicted felon, you will receive healthcare on a lower tier. The government plays an important role in our healthcare system; they regulate our practices and set forth policies that each institution must follow. Those policies that they set forth help to maintain patient safety and wellbeing. “Local Governments fund and administer more than 3,000 public health departments.” (Kovner and Knickman, 2011, P.42) The U.S. Public health service which was designed to first service sick and disabled service members now plays many different roles. Among many other services the Center for disease control and prevention (CDC) focuses mainly on disease prevention as well as control and most importantly health promotion and education.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
