The way individuals communicate has been drastically changed by the proliferation of theinternet. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls use a lot less bandwidth than video calls. Ahigh-quality Skype video call can easily consume bandwidth of up to nine hundred fifty kilobitsper second, which is greater than thirty times as great. This is because video calls are becomingincreasingly popular. Skype is a privately owned and operated piece of software. The standardprocedure calls for treating it as a black box and analyzing its behavior under a variety of differentcircumstances. Conditions of a real network are extremely varied, changing over time anddepending on the amount of traffic. When measured in a network environment that is constantlyshifting, results from measuring Skype are frequently misleading.
