4ABSTRACTThe aim of this research is to assess current economic environment concerningfemale entrepreneurship and obstacles and challenges that have an impact onfemale entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan. More specifically this researchaddressed the following research questions: what characteristics and profileshould be possessed by female entrepreneurs to setting up their business?What are the barriers and limitation on female entrepreneurship? What stepsneeds to be taken by the Government as well as female entrepreneurs toimprove female entrepreneurship?This research used qualitative data to provide an overview on currententrepreneurship environment and challenges faced by female entrepreneursin Uzbekistan. Exploratory design used to collect data such as interviews thatwere taken from 10 current female entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan. To understandmore about female entrepreneurship secondary data sources such as journals,reports and newspapers were used.
