One Vote Is All It Takes 9/17/07 Persuasive Paper English Comp. Election year is just around the corner and that means one thing: making a choice. No, I’m not talking about voting Democrat or Republican; you already made that decision a long time ago. I’m talking about follow through, by registering to vote you are making a commitment to do so. Did you know that according to the Youth Vote Coalition only 43.4% of 18-19 year olds registered to vote? Only 30.2% of those people actually voted in the year 2000, and as you can see this number represents less than half of young adults, eligible to vote. I say, why bother learning about something if you can’t use it, right? So, then use the information you have been given and go out and vote. Vote because you know that your vote can make a difference. Stop questioning yourself and look at the numbers, there are 26,917,473 million U.S citizens between the ages of 18 and 25, only 16 million of those people registered to vote, and even less actually voted.
