USA TODAY 7950 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, VA 22108 October 8, 2007 Dear Editor, After reading the article, “Facebook faces more pressure to protect children” I felt that it left out a few points of view. This article sadly only stated the opinions of attorneys general. In order to give these social networking sites a chance I feel that the views of the users count for more than an attorney general any day. Us users generally know about the risks they are taking by creating an account on a website such as, Facebook or MySpace. However, this article did make a good point about the lack of Internet safety, and since the Internet is not something that can be physically restricted, there are certain precautions individuals can take. But how do we go about protecting ourselves from something we can’t touch? Both Facebook and MySpace offer its users different security or privacy options. These options would be highly effective if every user chose to implement them. Parents that allow their children to set up accounts on
