English 9 7 March, 2004 Holocaust Video: E.C.: Schindler’s List The holocaust is a very large topic to cover, and is probably one of the most interesting aspects of history. Schindler’s List , directed by Steven Spielberg, and Night, written and lived by Elie Wiesel, are two such accounts from two very different points of view. One is taken from a German man named Oskar Schindler, and portrays the way he saved more than 1,000 Jews from certain death in concentration camps. The second is the story of a 15 year old boy and how he changed during his time in a concentration camp. Together, these two pieces of art portray in horrifying detail some events of WWII. In Schindler’s List , Oskar Schindler is a man that took Jews from their ghetto and had them work for him in his cookery plant, D.E.F. He hires a Jewish banker, Itzhak Stern, to be his accountant. At first, he cares nothing for Stern, he’s nothing more than an accountant to help him manage his money and find him workers. But as the movie progresses, Oskar’s accountant....
