QUESTION ONE How perceptual factors might be involved when an employee receives a poor performance appraisal. Introduction Firstly, according to scholar, Stephen P Robbins, perceptual factors are those factors that involve the process by which individuals organize and interpret their sensory impressions in order to give meaning to their environment. Secondly, In line with the Boundless definition, perceptual factors are the factors that comprise of the in depth involvement of the perception especially in relation to immediate sensory experience and the sequence of psychological steps that a person uses to organize and interpret information from the outside world Therefore, the perceptual factors basically would mean the factors to a conglomerate perception of the individual stimuli and the directed response which starts with the environment, its observation, selection, organization, interpretation and eventually the response. Body The following are the ways in which the perceptual factors might be involved when an employee receives a poor performance appraisal. Firstly, there is the factor on the Rating which may be involved in that with regard to how individuals react to elements of appraisal structure or methodology; the factor would be of effect when the employee responds more favorably to the observation that was made on him on the poor performance appraisal. Also, the factor would be employed in order to allow the appraiser to play the role of observer rather than of judging the ultimate favor of the employee. In this way, they may more easily provide constructive feedback to the employee concerning the correction of the poor performance. This is also a move to prevent the halo effect generally. Secondly, there is the factor on the Perceptual Constancy and it can be involved in that While objective reality of the poor performance appraisal to the employee remains unchanged, and therefore for the consistency of the organization , the reality on the constancy of the employee
