GEOGRAPHY QUIZ PREP SHEET Here is the information you will be expected to know for the geography quiz. You can find all of this information on maps in your Cambridge Illustrated History, on the following pages: 65, 98, 110, and p. 295 for a contemporary map with most of the cities and all the provinces on it. The only 2 features that do not appear on those maps that you will be expected to locate are Jiangnan and the Grand Canal. Be able to locate the following geographical features: The Gobi desert in Mongolia The Tian Mountains (Tian Shan) Lake Balkhash in contemporary Kazakhstan The Himalayas Yellow River, Yangzi River, Amur River, Yalu River Hainan island; Taiwan The Grand Canal Contemporary Provinces and Regions:
