Question 3 The role of a school counselor usually includes responsibilities other than the direct counseling of students. Describe other activities, services, or responsibilities which a school counselor might provide which have a beneficial bearing on a school’s comprehensive counseling and guidance program. Today because of the position-services model in most of the schools, guidance and counseling tend to remain an undefined program and school counselors usually include responsibilities other than the direct counseling of students. In the following, I will discuss other activities or services which a school counselor might provide in valuable to the counseling and guidance program. First of all, other than direct counseling, counselors are responsible to arrange class schedules for students, register and help all new students to schedule their classes associated with proper student placements. Counselors should also assist students to keep good standing in classes. Thus, counselors are expected to educate
