Mickey Green April 24, 2008 Short Assignment #8 1. The first picture is the baptism of Pocahontas.  This source is a primary source  because this event did happen.  This event happened in the 1600s and the main  people in the picture are Pocahontas and John Smith.  John Chapman did not  record the events happening, but did paint the picture. 2. The second picture, the one on the right, is the signing of the Declaration of  Independence.  This is a primary source because this event did take place  according to historical documents.  This event happened in the late 1700s and  the main people are George Washington and the rest of the Founding Fathers.

This source is secondary because we are not sure that this particular image is the rue way that he found the Mississippi. The main actors are the Native Americans and de Soto. 4. The fourth picture is the embarkation of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower. This source is primary because it happened according to historical documents. The main actors are the Pilgrims and this event happened in the 1600s....
