Lab Number 7: Centripetal Acceleration Introduction (Purpose of Lab and Hypothesis): Purpose of Lab: To be able to understand and verify the relationship centripetal force, mass, velocity, and the radius of orbit for the bob that is undergoing centripetal acceleration. Hypothesis: The mass of the bob from the accepted value will be closer to the mass from the experimental value. Procedure and Results: 1. For the first part of the lab, I had to get all of the materials like a bob, stopwatch, string, and weights. 2. First, I had to get the weight of the bob in grams and then convert it into kilograms. M Bob = 352.9 g = 0.353 kg 3. I had to spin the bob in a circle at constant speed at different radius fifty times. 4. I had to convert the radius for trail one from centimeter to meters. 15 cm = 0.15 m 5. I had to measure how much time it took for the bob to spin 50 times at radius 0.15 m. T TrailOne : ( ¿¿ 50 )= 37 s ¿ 6. After getting the time T ( ¿¿ 50 ) ¿ I had to divide it by 50 to get the time for one revolution (period).

###### "Before using Course Hero my grade was at 78%. By the end of the semester my grade was at 90%. I could not have done it without all the class material I found."
— Christopher R., University of Rhode Island '15, Course Hero Intern

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
